The Women's Equality Coalition of Greater Kansas City

The Women’s Equality Coalition is made up of fifteen organizations working together to eliminate discrimination against women in pay and promote opportunities for advancement.

Women's Equality Week

Women’s Equality Week was established by WEC as an expansion of Women’s Equality Day, August 26th, the day in 1920 when the 19th Amendment was ratified giving women the right to vote.  During that  week an ad hoc coalition of organizations, agencies, and media offer programs on the issues that prevent women from achieving full equality. Each organization, based on its mission, educates, inspires, and encourages women and men to advocate, lead, and especially to use the power of the vote to obtain full equality for women.

Beginning in 2020, Women's Equality Week now stretches throughout the entire year.

Programs are free and open to the public.
